Project Status Overview

Each project status, along with a description of that status can be seen below:

Within the Settings < Company Settings < Project Settings page, you can choose whether you'd like for the Onboard application to automatically update the project status or whether this is done manually by your team.  The system updates project status based on task completion and overdue tasks. * Note that this only runs when auto-update is enabled and the Project isn't "launched" or "paused".

Stalled Status Threshold:  If you are enabling the auto-update project status feature, you can also establish the percentage threshold of overdue tasks before a project is automatically set to 'Stalled' status.  Every organization has a different tolerance on when a project may be considered 'Stalled', so we give you the opportunity to establish that here.  If the percentage of overdue tasks compared to total tasks passes this threshold, the status of that project will automatically be changed to 'Stalled'.  *Note that you can always override this by manually changing the project status at anytime.  Additional stalled status threshold logic notes:

  • Threshold: Company setting (0-100%)
  • Calculation: (overdue tasks / tasks with due dates) × 100
  • Only tasks with due dates count toward the percentage

Additional Status functionality items to note:

  • All tasks complete = status always "launched"
  • Stalled status checks happen first (before setting to stalled)
  • Only tasks with due dates count toward the threshold percentage
  • Status reverts automatically when conditions improve
