Onboard Chatbot FAQs
Onboard Chatbot: Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run more than one bot?
Yes. You can create multiple General Bots that run at the same time, or a mix of General and Project Bots for different parts of your site.
What happens if I archive a bot?
The bot stops appearing on your site, but its conversations and knowledge base are kept. You can unarchive it at any time.
Can I move a conversation from one bot to another?
Not currently — a conversation stays tied to the bot it started with.
Does the bot work if a visitor is offline?
No, it requires an internet connection to search the knowledge base and generate a response.
Can I limit the bot to only answer from my knowledge base?
Not entirely, but raising the Similarity Threshold in Chat Settings makes the bot require a much closer match before it uses a knowledge source, which reduces (though doesn't eliminate) general, non-grounded answers.
Where does my data go?
Conversations and AI processing stay within Onboard's AWS infrastructure (SOC 2 Type II compliant). Conversation data is never used to train or fine-tune the underlying models.
Can I export my conversation data?
Not yet — conversations can be reviewed and searched in the app, but bulk export isn't available at this time.
Does the bot support languages other than English?
Not yet — Onboard Chatbot currently operates in English.
